2013/2014 FEE SCHEDULE
(KINDERGARTEN to GRADE 8)



TUITION FEES
The fees include the cost of textbooks, school insurance and tuition.
Upfront Annual tuition fees are due by August 1st.
The costs of uniforms are not included in the fees.

Full-Time (Kindergarten to Grade 13)
Mon-Fri (9am to 3:30pm)
Annually: $13,000 ($1,500 Registration + $11,500 due by Aug 1)
Monthly: $13,500 ($1,500 Registration + $1,500/month Sept-April)

Part-Time (Kindergarten)
3 Full Days – (9am to 3:30pm)
Annually: $10,800 ($1,500 Registration + $9,300 due by Aug 1)
Monthly: $11,190 ($1,500 Registration + $1,211.25/month Sept-April)

ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE
A non-refundable registration fee of $1,500 is required at time of enrollment for all grades. This registration fee is applied towards tuition.

FAMILY PLAN
Thor College offers the following discounted family plan that will be applied to the last installment:

•  The 2nd child will receive a 10% discount
•  The 3rd child will receive a 15% discount
•  The 4th child will receive a 20% discount

RETURNING STUDENT – 50% DISCOUNT on Registration Fee
Returning students (i.e. those who have been out of the school for at least 6 months) will receive a 50% discount on the $1,500 registration fee for the first year only.

BUS TRANSPORTATION
Bus transportation is available from Barrie and costs $1,000.00 per family per year . This fee is to be paid at the beginning of the term.

EXTENDED HOURS
After school care hours are available for those who require supervision from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. It consists of homework time and when that is completed, a variety of activities and games. The fees can be be paid either monthly or annually. Please contact the office for further information on this program.

TUTORING
Additional teaching is available on request at $20/half hour. Please contact the office for further information.

MEAL PLAN
Our in-house Chef offers a meal plan to our students on a daily basis. Meals are prepared using local healthy food. Payments are made to the Chef and are due at the beginning of the term. The weekly menu is as follows:

•  MONDAY: Pasta and healthy snacks
•  TUESDAY: Soup or stew, with rolls, bread or crackers and healthy snacks
•  WEDNESDAY: Homemade pizza with healthy snacks
•  THURSDAY: Subs and salad or veggies and dip and healthy snacks
•  FRIDAY: Tacos, sausage on a bun, pulled pork sandwiches etc. and healthy snacks

REFERRAL PROGRAM
The best advertising for Thor College is referrals from our parents, students and staff.
  • Thor College will offer a 10% commission per new student that registers.
  • The commission will be given to the parents whose name or names are listed on the Record of Referral. If two or more names are on the record of referral the commission will be split evenly among the parties listed.
  • The commission only applies to first-time applicants and not returning or renewing students.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CANADIAN INCOME TAX DEDUCTIONS
The grade levels of Kindergarten to Senior Kindergarten are tax deductible as Child Care Expenses. For students in grades 1 to 8, the Income Tax Act allows parents to deduct certain expenses. We recommend that taxpayers review their circumstances with a professional advisor.

OVERDUE ACCOUNTS & REFUNDS
Overdue accounts are subject to an interest charge of 2% per month. Students are entered in Thor College under a contract for the entire school year, which is signed at the time of admission or re-enrollment. No deduction or refunds of fees will be made for absence, withdrawal or dismissal before the end of the school year.

NSF CHEQUES
Thor College charges an administrative fee of $30 for each NSF cheque received.
